Dracula's Guest

Last night I was listening to the first episode of a new radio series called A Short History of Vampires. The first episode was a reading of the story "Dracula's Guest" by Bram Stoker. Apparently it was originally written as part of the novel Dracula but was cut at some point from the main text.

Today was the start of another week at work, and was pretty much the same as usual. It was very quiet in the office today, with a lot of people being either off work or working in different rooms.

More Stuff

Last night was fairly quiet. I spent most of the time watching TV and reading my book.

Today was the start of another week at work, and it was fairly quiet. As usual. There seems to be quite a few people off today. There must be something going round.

I was on the Meetup.com site and joined a group called "Vampires, Zombies and Horror Movies/Literature". Which I thought might be quite fun.

The Crooked Man

Last night I was listening to another radio adaptation of a Sherlock Holmes story called "The Crooked Man", based on the short story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. In this story Sherlock Holmes is assigned to investigate the case of a woman who is accused of murdering her husband, but uncovers a dark story of jealosy and treachery stretching back over thirty years. It was a really good story.

It was another very quiet and dull day at work. There was a petition going around the office to try and get them to put up the heating.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the film of The Wolf-Man when it come out. I do find it interesting just how popular vampires are at the moment. In recent years it just seems like they've really taken off.

Vampire Stories

Last night was pretty quiet. I managed to get up to 4,054 words on my NaNoWriMo novel, so that was pretty good. I am really hoping that the finished work turns out to be good. The thing is that I'm really pretty bad at writing, and I'm pretty much completely untalented.

It was another really quiet and kind of dull day at work again. I was reading some of the book Interview With the Vampire by Anne Rice on my break at work. I have read it before but not for about fourteen years. Because my NaNo story has to do with vampires I've been trying to do some research. I've had a look at Dracula again, and I should probably check out the Twilight books at some point.
