Dune

Last night I did watch Dune, directed by David Lynch, and based on the novel by Frank Herbert. It's a very strange science-fiction film about two feuding families, struggling for control of a barren, desert planet, which is the only source of a powerful substance that extends life, expands consciousness and facilitates interstellar travel. It stars Kyle MacLachlan in his first film, along with Francesca Annis, Sean Young, Dean Stockwell, Patrick Stewart, Max von Sydow and Sting.
