Quiet Saturday

Last night I was watching the last few episodes on The Mighty Boosh season one DVD. In the first one I saw Howard tries his hand as a writer, despite only having only written one sentence, while Vince finds success with his "self-published" stories about a giant man-eating piece of pink bubble-gum called Charlie, in the second episode Howard gets to play keyboards in Vince's new electro-pop band Kraftwerk Orange, as long as Howard can avoid possession by the demonic Spirit of Jazz, and in the last one Vince and Howard are transporting a violent communist bear to the Zoo for Animal Offenders when they are trapped in a magic box by a vicious, green-skinned hitch-hiker, with only Vince's collection of Gary Numan tapes to help them. Great fun. Later on I saw a couple of episodes of The Mitchell and Webb Situation, which was very funny.

Today was really quiet. I only went out once today and that was to get my groceries for the coming week. Later on I was listening to a genuinely creepy episode of Fear on Four called "Chimes at Midnight" which starred David Suchet as a famous academic who specialises in time and astrophysics and as a hobby collects antique clocks. One night after a lecture he is invited to an antique shop and is sold a particularly beautiful and ancient clock which hides a horrific secret. Fear on Four is a radio horror show which presented a different play every week. It was originally broadcast on BBC Radio Four (hence the title) and crops up regularly on some of the digital radio stations.
