The Office

Last night I was listening to a Fear on Four story called "Making Sacrifices", which was a pretty creepy story about a schoolgirl at an expensive boarding school who will stop at nithing, including murder, to get what she wants. It was an unusual episode of the series in that it was more of a crime thriller without any supernatural elements. I was also watching a few episodes from The Office season three box-set. It is very funny and it's interesting, when you've seen the original version, to compare the two . Some of the things in the US version I actually like better than the British version, especially Dwight, who I think is hilarious. After I finished watching a few episodes of The Office, I started to doze off on my sofa, and woke up long enough to see about twenty minutes of an episode of Blackadder Goes Forth, before heading to bed.

I got up quite late this morning and had to hurry to get ready for my parents who were going to pick me up early today. The reason for this is because there was a big soccer match between the city's two local teams and the streets were going to be packed very early. I live quite near one of the big stadiums so I am very aware of it, even though I can't stand sport, and find it extremely dull and trivial. Anyway, we went along to a shopping mall and stopped off for some coffee, at a small restaurant overlooking a harbour. I had a mocha, which had quite unusually hard chocolate sprinkles, and a cheese scone. Afterwards we split up to have a look around the mall for an hour or so, and I bought a book of short stories called 20th Century Ghosts by Joe Hill. I really liked the novel he wrote, Heart-Shaped Box.

We went along to my parent's house afterwards for lunch, which was roast chicken, mashed potato, stuffing and peas, along with a glass of Budweiser beer. After lunch my parents went for a walk to view a flat, while I watched a few epsiodes of The Office, I had brought along the DVD with me. I got home when we were sure that the match would have finished. The worst thing is all the noise from the surrounding bars, which I will have to put up with throughout the night.

At the moment I'm watching a documentary about Ian Fleming, author of the James Bond novels. It is pretty interesting.
