The Mold of Yancy
Last night I was reading a Philip K. Dick short story called "The Mold of Yancy" in which a group of cops from Earth travel to a colony on Callisto, one of the moons of Jupiter, which they believe has all the hallmarks of a totalitarian state, despite having no visible form of torture or oppression. However, every aspect of life on the colony is saturated by their biggest TV star, a man named John Yancy, who seems to have an opinion of every subject. It was a pretty good story.
It was another fairly quiet day at work, pretty much the same as usual really. When I got back I had some microwaved hoi san duck and noodles which were quite nice.
