Watching TV

Last night was really quiet and pretty uneventful. I watched the latest episode of Peep Show on TV which was really funny. That is probably my favourite sitcom and I was kind of worried when the present series (the sixth) started that the quality might begin to drop, but it certainly hasn't so far. After that I spent most of the evening reading, watching TV and listening to the audio commentary tracks on DVDs.

Today I went out to get some groceries for the week. After lunch I went and did some more cleaning of my home. Then I watched an episode of the 1979 TV version of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, based on the John le Carre novel. It's a very good series but very slow-moving. A lot of it seems to consist of people chatting in dingy offices and hotel rooms, reading files and Alec Guinness gazing gloomily into the middle distance. That is probably unfair because it is a very interesting show.
