Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Last night I was watching the 1985 comedy film Ferris Bueller's Day Off, directed by John Hughes. The movie stars Matthew Broderick as Ferris Bueller, a high school student who is about to graduate, but decides to pull off one last skive off school and so borrowing his best friend's dad's rare Ferrari, Ferris takes his girlfriend and his reluctant best friend on a wild day out to Chicago, all the while trying to avoid his concerned parents and his high school principal who is determined to track Ferris down. The movie is hugely entertaining and really funny. Also it actually manages to be genuinely charming and likeable when it could very easily have just been irritating. Charlie Sheen has a very small role in the film as a druggie teenager in a police station. Apparently he stayed awake for 48 hours straight before he filmed the scene in order to get the right look.

It was another really quiet day at work, but it was pretty busy as well. I got home at about ten past six this evening and had a microwaved chicken tikka masala for my dinner.
