Pretentious Art Film

Last night I was watching a bizarre film called Sebastiane, directed by Derek Jarman and Paul Humfress. It was Jarman's first film, based on the life of the early Christian martyr Saint Sebastian, and the dialogue is entirely in Latin (thereby being the only English film to be released with English subtitles). It is also very explicit and was extrmely controversial in it's day. I remember seeing a clip of it featured in a comedy series called Room 101 where it was laughed at as being an example of "pretentious art films".

Today was another very quiet and dull day at work. At least it will soon be the weekend.
