HIGH School

It was another really dull day at work. A lot of people left early to watch the World Cup England match.

After work I went along to the Cineworld cinema to see another movie at the Film Festival. This evening it was a film called HIGH School, directed by John Stalberg. The movie is a comedy in which Henry (played by Matt Bush) is about to be named class valedictorian at his high school, and is all set to go to MIT, until his stoner friend Travis (Sean Marquette) persuades him to smoke dope for the first time. On that same day the school's pricipal (Michael Chilkis) announces that the entire student body will be tested for drugs. Horrified at the prospect of ruining Henry's academic future, he and Travis decide that somehow they have to get the entire school stoned. The movie is mostly really funny. It's really a very traditional stoner comedy. It features a hilarious performance from Adrien Brody as a deranged drug dealer. If you like teen comedies or Kevin Smith's Jay and Silent Bob films, then you'll probably enjoy this one.

After the film the director was on stage to answer questions from the audience which was really fun. I really like that aspect to the Festivals where you get to see the film-makers in person.
