Anchorman

Last night I was watching the 2004 film Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. It's set in San Diego in the 1970s where the city's most successful TV news anchorman is Ron Burgundy (played by Will Ferrell), who feels threatened by the arrival of a woman news reporter (Christina Applegate). It is extremely funny with plenty of memorable lines and characters, including cameos from what seems like most of the big movie comedy stars of the past five years.

Today I set out to mail a letter to a friend of mine in New York, but by the time I got to the Post Office, it was just closing. I went into the city centre and bought some books in the sales (a double volume of The Vesuvius Club and The Devil in Amber by Mark Gatiss, The English Civil War: A People's History by Diane Purkiss and Reminiscences of the Cuban Revolutionary War by Ernesto "Che" Guevara). After that I wnet along to a couple of travel agents to get brochures and information to help me plan my holiday in March.

On my way home I stopped off and got my groceries for the coming week.
