Weekend

Yesterday I was having my wndow frame repainted. We recently had new windows installed in several rooms in our house. I went out with my mum and bought some Christmas presents. I bought a book for myself called Godard: The Artist at 70 by Colin MacCabe. The book is a biography of the legendary (if strange) French film-maker Jean-Luc Godard. The new issue of Sight and Sound magazine arrived yesterday as well, so at least I had plenty to read. My bedroom was a complete mess all day. I just managed to squeeze myself in amongst all the up-turned furniture and tools and assorted mess to watch an episode of Dawson's Creek. That show could be okay at times. I'd seen this episode a few times. I only watched it because it had Rachael Leigh Cook in it.

This evening I watched the film Zoolander, which I thought was very funny. It starred Ben Stiller as a very stupid male fashion model. Later on I was watching Sweet and Lowdown, a Woody Allen film about a very arrogant, stupid, but very talented jazz guitarist in the 1930s. It's quite good. Worth watching. I also watched an episode of a show called Fallen Angels, which was adaptations of old pulp fiction stories, featuring famous Hollywood stars. This episode was an adaptation of a Raymond Chandler story called Red Wind. It was pretty effective.

Probably have to go flat hunting today. I am not looking forward to it.
