Documentaries and Video Games

Last night I was listening to the fourth in the series of short documentaries about Edgar Allan Poe, The Essay: Loving the Raven, in last night's episode there was an analysis of Poe's "The Murders in the Rue Morgue" and his influence on detective fiction. It was quite interesting. I was also watching a documentary about a group of historians trying to live on a farm in the style of the Victorians. It was a pretty interesting show. I was also playing some of Fallout 3. I'd only been intending to play for about half an hour or so, but I got into it and ended up playing for about two hours.

It was a fairly quiet day at work but, since it was Friday, a lot of people left early. I was e-mailing my friend Joe a few times, mostly about the up-coming X-Men: Wolverine video game. He said he was going to give me a loan of the film Dark City on Blu-Ray DVD. On my way in I bought the latest issue of Radio Times magazine. I got back at around quarter past five and had a microwaved meal of beef and onions in an ale sauce with mashed potato. It tasted quite nice.
