Start of the Week

Last night I watched Pegg and Frost's Perfect Night In in which Simon Pegg and Nicholas Frost, from Spaced, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, discussed their favourite TV shows and movies. One of the shows they mentioned was Blake's 7 which I remember loving on video when I was 14. It was kind of a darker version of Star Trek, about a future in which the Earth was centre of this all-powerful totalitarian Federation, and Blake and his gang of rebels tried to free the galaxy. It was notable for it's often quite unlikeable heroes, the high death count among the lead and the downbeat ending of the series.

Today was fairly quiet at work. I went to the New Yorker bar at lunchtime with my friends Jackie and Alan. We also went out after work for a couple of drinks that soon turned into four pints of beer, but it was a fun night.
