Light Problems

Last night was pretty quiet. I was playing Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion on the Playstation 3. It can be quite overwhelming just how vast some of these games are. I do find with the role playing games that you really need to give them a long time to really get into the game.

This morning, just after I had made my porridge and coffee for breakfast, the light in my living room flashed off. I took about forty minutes and tried several different lightbulbs, until I discovered that the problem was the fuse, which I managed to fix. However, it meant that I was a lot later in to work than I had planned, which really annoyed me. I had planned to get in before nine, but it was closer to half past. It also meant that by the time I actually got to eat it my breakfast was stone cold.

Work was very quiet, as usual. I left at about five, which meant that I lost about half an hour of time, but I could easily afford to lose it, and I didn't really feel like staying in later because of this morning's mess. After work I went home and had a microwave Special Chow Mein ready-meal, which was very nice.

Tales of the Unexpected

Last night I was watching a pretty good episode of Tales of the Unexpected called "Clerical Error". The story revolved around two elderly brothers who run an antique book store, however on the side they scour the newspaper obituaries to find wealthy, respectable men who have recently died and send their greiving relatives large "outstanding bills" for very old but very dirty books, which the relatives pay to save embarrasement. However their latest victim manages to turn the tables on them.

It was another dull day at work. Another one of the key systems unexpectedly crashed for about three hours today, which threw everything into chaos. I telephoned the IT department after about two hours and they said they had no idea what was wrong or when it would be fixed. They did work it out eventually though.

I returned home to a blown fuse and a burnt out lightbulb in my living room. Luckily I managed to get them both fixed up.

Another Day

Today was really quiet at work. The computer systems kept freezing up and going down for whatever reason. I paid the £20 required for the office Christmas lunch at the beginning of next month. Although there seem to be Christmas decorations up in all the shops, it still feels far too early to be thinking about Christmas!

After work I went round to my friend Emily's house for a while. We had some dinner, which was really nice, talked, and watched some TV. I had a really nice evening.

As soon as I got in and switched on the light for my living room it blew out, so I had to fetch my ladder from behind all the boxes in my store room, and manouvre it through, with much banging and crashing I managed it. I can never move the ladder at all without it banging on doorframes and so on. One thing I need to do is get some more lightbulbs.
