Hawk

Last night I was updating my iPod with some music and plays and stuff.

On my way into work I stopped off and renewed my bus pass for another four weeks. It was a really quiet day in the office. In order to solve the problem of pigeons around the building they're using a trained hawk to scare the birds off, so that always creates a real stir whenever the hawk is around.

On the way home I stopped off to vote in the European elections.

I was thinking that it's been a couple of years since I last had any kind of date. I have pretty much given up on it now. I suppose the advantage of not having a romantic life means that I have more time and money for other things. For one thing there's not enough plastic surgery in the world to make me look good! LOL! Seriously though, I think if it ever really was going to happen it would have happened by now. Maybe in the extremely unlikely event of me ever becoming successful, I might have a chance. Then again I've never had any good experiences in my romantic life. So I've pretty much shut the book on it now.

Drink With Alice

It was another fairly dull and average day at work again, as it almost always is. After work I went up to a bar at a cinema to meet a woman named Alice. She's from Australia and I met her though the same web-site where I met Michele (who I still haven't heard from, by the way). It was just really a friend's date, and Alice seemed really nice. It was a really nice evening.

A Drink with Beth

On my way into work I picked up this week's copy of Radio Times magazine and the latest issue of Total Film.

I left work quite early and went up to meet Beth at a nearby cinema. We didn't see a film we just had a small drink and chatted in the cafe-bar there. Beth is very nice. She is English and works as a gardener, while studying horticulture. She used to be a doctor, but found it very stressful and decided on a career change. So we had a really nice chat for an hour and a half. Hopefully we'll meet up again soon.

Malcolm's Films

This evening I went out after work to go to the Printmaker's Gallery to see two short films about my friend Malcolm. Malcolm works as a cinema projectionist and in his spare time he makes surreal comics. The first film was a blend of animation and film footage of Malcolm drawing a variety of horses in his sketch-pad, and the second was Malcolm playing his father tending a garden that was growing feet (Malcolm's dad was a chiropodist). The place was completely packed out. I didn't get to speak Malcolm, who I have known since we both started school, but I did meet his new girlfriend and she seemed very nice.

Tomorrow I have my first date in about two years! It's with a girl named Beth. I am still trying to get over my feelings for Michele, but I am working on it.
