Wind Chill

Last night I was listening to a radio show called Doctor Who and the Giant Robot, written by Terrance Dicks and read by Tom Baker. It's basically a reading of a novelisation of a Doctor Who TV story, in which the Doctor has to discover what is responsible for a series of impossible break-ins and killings. The title of the story has a subtle clue as to what is responsible.

Later on I was watching a 2007 movie called Wind Chill, directed by Gregory Jacobs, on TV. The film stars Emily Blunt as a college student who accepts a ride home for Christmas (which is a six hour drive) from another student (Ashton Holmes) who she has never met. As the drive progresses, she quickly realises that he has not been telling her the truth, and things go from bad to worse when they crash in the snow and soon find themselves contending not only with a wrecked car, no food and sub-zero temperatures, but also with a series of menacing ghosts. It started off slowly, but it was a pretty good show.

Today I got my groceries for the week and was intending to go out to see Clash of the Titans but I got a message from my friend Joe, and went out to hang out with him instead. I had a couple of drinks and then headed home.

GameCube

I was only in for a half day today at work, so that was good. I also bought Joe's GameCube console for £25. He also included three Resident Evil games (Resident Evil, Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 0).

As soon as I brought it home I had to go out again to fix my bank card. Apparently it has been unlocked now, but I can't use it for twenty four hours. I also bought a few second-hand games, very cheaply, for the GameCube. I got Batman Begins, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Spider-Man and The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age, so I've got a nice selection to start off with.Everything really seems to work okay, so that's good. I've always enjoyed computer games, but was always put off by the cost for consoles, but the GameCube seems to be a good machine, and you can get really good games, fairly cheaply (albeit second-hand).

My brother came up from London a couple of days ago with his new girlfriend. I should be seeing them tomorrow.
