Capote

Last night I was watching the film Capote, directed by Bennett Miller, on DVD. The film is based on the true story of Truman Capote (played by Philip Seymour Hoffman) investigating and writing the true-crime book In Cold Blood, about the brutal murders of a wealthy farmer and his family in Kansas in 1959. The film focuses on Capote's relationship with the murderers, who he befriended while they were in prison. It's a well-made and interesting film. It was nominated for several Oscars, including Best Picture, and won one: The Best Lead Actor award for Philip Seymour Hoffman.

I went on-line after the film and ordered the CD soundtrack for the film Juno so that should hopefully come during the week.

Today I went to my parent's house as usual on a Sunday. My parents had been on holiday to Nice in France during the past week, they just came home yesterday. They said that they had had a great time, and that it was really hot and sunny. They brought me back a small painted eye glass holder, which my mum had nicknamed "Picasso's nose" due to the way it had been painted. Luckily, the weather was nice enough to sit outside this afternoon.
