Friday 27th
Last night I went to a couple of films at a Film Festival. The first one I saw was Incident at Loch Ness, which was about the great German film-maker Werner Herzog trying to make a documentary film about the Loch Ness Monster. The second film was called Overnight, and it was about an aspiring film-maker who manages to get financing to make his own film and then totally ruins it for himself. They were both pretty interesting films. The Loch Ness one was very funny in places.
In between the films I ran into a friend of mine in the cinema lobby. Apparently, he's been workng with some of his friends on a series of short films and is currently writing a feature film script. I've been making some very short experimental films with my video camera (experimental mainly because I haven't found anyone who wants to be in them yet!) So I asked if there might be a job for me somewhere along the line, and my friend said that there probably would be. Anyway, he also said that he knows a number of people who might be interested in acting in my short films, so I was very happy.
I went out today and bought some CDs. I got London Calling by The Clash and Afterglow the new Sarah McLachlan CD. This afternoon I went to the supermarket to help my mum with some of the grocery shopping.
