Red Riding
Last night I listened to two very short science-fiction/fantasy stories on the radio. The first one was a reading of a story called "Imposter" by Philip K. Dick. In the story a man survives a spaceship crash but is immediately accused of being a robot replica with an artificially created memory and a powerful bomb built into him. The second story was an original radio play called On the Seventh Day We Shall Emerge and was about three teenagers whose plan to recreate a thirty year old hoax takes a very bizarre turn. Later on I was watching a show called Red Riding. It's actually three interlinked TV movies that are being shown over three nights, based on novels by David Peace. The first one was set in 1974, and dealt with a young journalist (played by Andrew Garfield) investigates a series of horrific murders in Yorkshire where he comes up against police corruption and violence. It was very bleak but really good. The next one is on tonight.
Today I went along to my parent's house for lunch as usual. It was a nice peaceful afternoon and I listened to the first part of a radio adaptation of The Looking-Glass War based on a spy novel by John le Carre.
