Waiting for Godot

Last night I was watching the film 11:14 on DVD. It was a pretty fun dark comedy thriller in which a series of interlocking stories all culminate at 11:14PM in a small American town. It was funny and enjoyable, and pretty engaging. Also Rachael Leigh Cook looked spectacular, so that was the important thing as far as I was concerned!

I was back to work today and it was a pretty average day. It was really quiet though due to the Easter Bank Holiday, there hadn't been much work coming through. However I left early and went to my parent's house, where I had some spaghetti bolognese. After that my Mum and I went along to the Kings Theatre to see a performance of Waiting for Godot, written by Samuel Beckett and starring Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, Simon Callow and Ronald Pickup. The play revolves around two tramps who spend a couple of evenings hanging out by a road, waiting for someone named Godot. Along the way they encounter the flamboyant Pozzo and his servant Lucky. Mostly they joke around, bicker, philosophise, sing, dance, try on each other's hats and reflect on the meaning of life. The play was brilliant and surprisingly amusing. All the actors were superb. The play is completely sold out for the entire run and my Mum had to book the tickets before Christmas, so it wa s areally great evening.
