Christmas Shopping
Last night I was watching very late night TV and came across a 1970 movie called Hercules in New York, in which the legendary Greek hero Hercules (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger in his movie debut) leaves Mount Olympus and heads to modern day New York where he finds work as a professional wrestler. I only watched about half an hour of it, but it was so bad it was actually very funny. It was just really badly made and acted. However, Schwarzenegger's career managed to recover.
I went out today to get my Christmas shopping. I got my mum a book called Will by Christopher Rush, a novel about William Shakespeare. I just hope that she hasn't already read it, because she tend sto get a lot of books from the library, although hopefully the book is new enough for her not to have come across it yet. I got my brother a £10 HMV voucher. I've asked him several times what he wants for Christmas but he never replied and so he's getting a voucher. The shops were absolutely packed, it was really bad, but I managed to get the things. I usually try to do my shopping early and avoid the shops in the couple of weeks before Christmas because I really hate the crowds. On my way home I stopped off and bought my groceries. When I tried to buy usual bottle of wine, the guy that was serving me, and was new, didn't let me get it at first because I didn't have any ID to prove that I was over 21 (they only accept a driving license or a passport for ID, and I don't have a driving license and I don't carry my passport around with me, so I was kind of stuck) but someone else serving there recognised me, because I've been shopping there for the past three and a half years, so I did manage to get it.
This afternoon I was busy doing some cleaning.
