The Mighty Boosh

Last night I was watching the first couple of episodes of the second season of The Mighty Boosh on DVD. In the first one I saw Howard (Julian Barratt) and Vince (Noel Fielding) head off into the wilderness for a holiday where Howard encounters a tribe of Yeti who threaten to turn him into a hippy, while Vince finds a new style magazine delivered by ninjas, which is so cutting-edge a new issue is delivered every three hours. In the second episode the duo are searching for a new sound for their band in a magical desert where they encounter a town menaced by the deadly Betamax Bandit ("an obsolete format wrecking it's revenge on the world") and reminisce about Woodstock ("I told you, we go in, play, and then get out, but no, you wanted to stay for the whole three days, and what happened? We got stuck with the tidying up... You, me and Carlos Santana hoovering for six weeks"). Both very funny episodes and completely bizarre. I remember that those were the first episodes of The Mighty Boosh that I saw when it was repeated a few months ago, and I didn't really like it much at first because it was just so bizarre, but it really did grow on me, and once I got used to the weirdness I really started to enjoy the show.

It was another fairly quiet day at work. Someone e-mailed me for a list of movies and books in which famous people from the past travel to the future. It was kind of a random question with a lot to choose from so I asked him why and he replied that he was just generally interested. I haven't had much feedback about the staff magazine questionnaire, except a couple of people who wanted to know who Rachael Leigh Cook is. Actually, I do have a picture of her next to my computer monitor, anyway. Some girl I had never spoken to came up to me today to ask whether or not I was actually interviewed for the thing by someone (I wasn't, the questions were e-mailed). Also the office comedians now have some fresh material to replace the fact that I sometimes wear a Batman tee-shirt. They don't really bother me though. They aren't exactly great comedians. I was listening to my iPod a bit at work, again, and this evening I tried to download something to get Twitter updates on my phone, but without success. I can still send updates to Twitter on my mobile though.
