Last Class

Last night I was watching a Doctor Who story from 1980 called "The Keeper of Traken". it involved the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) being summoned to the peaceful planet of the Traken Union, which is being threatened by a killer statue. It turns out that it's a plot by the Doctor's arch-enemy, The Master. It was kind of slow, but still good.

It was another very dull day at work, but at least it was a little busier than yesterday. My friend Joe is looking for a part-time second job again. He had one before around this time last year but quit because it interfered too much with his social life.

After work I went up to the last class in my Fiction Workshop evening course. Our assignment for this week had been about redrafting our work, and also attempting "flash fiction" (writing a story in 150 words or less). The main lecture, which was squeezed into ten minutes at the end of the class was about submitting our work for publication. It's a shame that it's over actually, because it has been a really good course. After the cass I went and had my usual mocha coffee at Beanscene while I read some of the book I had with me (The Colour of Magic by Terry Pratchett).
